There have been a number of delays, sick children, cars in the shop etc, so it took me a few weeks to move along here. As you can see the pit is very nearly almost finished.

September 8 2012

Today was very exciting...I did some more digging! I got an early start and managed to dig out most of the pit down to about 7 feet.. only 4 ish feet to go. The local wildlife seemed very interested in my excavation. I pulled out another very large boulder.

September 7th 2012

More of the same today, moved dirt and dug from within the pit. I'm starting to see what the end result will look like. The dirt pile will probably extend to where the barn will be. Another fantastic Malibu day 80 degrees and a nice ocean breeze.

No work done today but there was an "inspection".

A little more digging today but mostly moving the dirt from the western side of the pit to the big pile. A few spots of rain today but still a very nice 77 degrees.

The digging went well today. I dug out the western side of the pit down to 7ft. I did this from inside the pit using the ramp. The plan is to dig out the west side first leaving the middle in, then the east side and finally the middle. Yes it was beautiful again today, 75 degrees with a very loud sound of waves crashing on the beach.

The ramp is in. I built it this morning using the bulldozer and its "ripper" . I hope to put a good dent in the project this long weekend (labour day). What a gorgeous day!
